A couple years back, I had the opportunity to record a cover of Joni Mitchell’s song “Both Sides Now” for a movie, all written, filmed and produced locally on Kauai, Hawaii. I was so thrilled by this! Having Hawaiian roots, the islands have always carried a special place in my heart and working on this project brought me a little closer to my home away from home and my ohana.
In the summer of 2023, a big premiere was held on Oahu, where we all had the chance to discover the film for the first time. We got all dressed up, walked the red carpet, and got our pictures taken. It was such a fun experience! Hearing my voice play in the movie theater felt surreal and I’m so honored I got to be a part of this beautiful project.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, December 2024, when we got to witness a special showing of the final version of the film, after it received all of its finishing touches. I really enjoyed seeing it again, and listening to my song echo in the theater felt magical.
