Slow and steady wins the race 𓆉

The project is moving along slowly, but surely! My two next songs, “84” and “We’re Not Really Strangers” are SO close to being finished, which is great news. We’re currently just going back and forth on some final sound details and little things here and there to make the tracks feel as close to perfect as possible. I always underestimate how much time these finishing touches take.

In the meantime, I’ve also been recording the fourth song on the EP and boy was this more challenging than I thought it would be. I’ve decided I wanted to play this one on the electric guitar instead, and since that’s something I’ve never recorded before, it took a while to figure out how to get it to sound right. Recording vocals was tricky too, because I hadn’t really expected it to be so noisy in the neighborhood. Nothing major, mostly planes, cars, yardwork, etc., but just enough nuisance to have to redo takes, take a lot of breaks or record late at night instead. This has made me realize just how lucky we are living in the quiet Swiss Alps! I thought I could continue to do all recordings from home, but I might have to book a big chunk of time in the studio for the next and final song… Wish me luck!
